  • The ECO Committee - Bulb Planting in the Community

    Published 26/11/25

Our ECO Committee were recently invited to take part in a project across Stevenage town - looking at delivering improvement works in line with climate change. The 'Green Spaces Project' was due to take place in our local area, in the large grass field close to Trent Close. On Tuesday, the ECO Committee headed off-site to get involved - eagerly putting on their gardening gloves and doing lots of digging and planting. They worked so hard, carefully arranging and planting lots of spring bulbs including tulips, crocuses and snowdrops. Well done to our ECO Committee members and a big thank you to our parent helpers, Nic and the team at Stevenage Borough Council for allowing us to be a part of it - we can't wait to come back in the spring to see the flowers blooming!

  • Outdoor Learning Day

    Published 14/11/25

We had our first Outdoor Classroom day here at Almond Hill on Thursday 6th November and it was a big success! It was wonderful to see all of the children outside and making use of the natural environment and resources. Each year group had up to three different activities to have a go at. There were children painting with mud, measuring trees, building structures and so much more! Despite the rainy weather, the children really enjoyed their time outside and plenty of smiles were seen. Keep your eyes posted for our next Outdoor Classroom day.

6S Sharks - We had a wonderful day and enjoyed some time outside remembering those who died at war. We made a remembrance poppy tribute and after a 2 minute silence, had fun playing in Lovelock Wood making camps! Great fun had by all!
