Some of you may remember back in September, Sophie in Year 5 WON the Stevenage Borough Council Summer ECO Competition. This week, she was invited to see the outcome of that competition.  

A message from Sophie: 

When I was in year 4, the school entered a competition. We had to design a recycling hero. Last term, I found out that I had won in my age category. So last week, I went to the Stevenage Borough Council waste depot to see my character on the waste truck. I got to meet the other winners, the mayor and a councillor. We had a look around the recycling centre and then went to a large warehouse where I saw my truck with my character, Captain Carrot, on it. I had lots of photographs and did a video with the councillor. After this, I got presented with a certificate and got to take home a life-size cut out of my recycling hero! From the 2nd March, my truck will be used to collect waste all over Stevenage! Photos
