Issue 17 - 16th January 2026
Dear Families,
It has been lovely to receive the support of so many families this week while we underwent our Ofsted inspection - thank you. We were also extremely grateful for the thoughtful treats sent in by parents to help us get through the week; these were very much appreciated by staff. We won’t receive the final report for approximately 6 weeks as it needs to be drafted and quality assured but we will share with parents when we receive it.
We appreciate that the cancellation of clubs this week may have been frustrating for some families. As many of you know, we are only informed of an Ofsted inspection the day before, which meant that changes had to be made at very short notice. Please also remember that school clubs are run by staff who generously volunteer their time. On occasion, clubs may need to be cancelled, but this is never without good reason and we always aim to give as much notice as possible. We kindly ask that families do not rely on school-run clubs as their sole form of childcare. Thank you for your understanding.
We are also delighted to share that we have been awarded our Wellbeing Accreditation. A great deal of work has gone into improving and educating the children about the importance of looking after both their physical and mental health and it is wonderful to see these efforts recognised. A special well done to everyone involved for all their hard work in leading this initiative.
With lots of extra visitors this week it was fantastic to see the children put their oracy skills into practice and talking so confidently with our visitors (including the Ofsted inspectors) and showing a true reflection of themselves. We are all very proud of them. Well done.
Ofsted wasn’t the only thing happening in school this week. We were pleased to see our football team achieve their first win of the term with a fantastic away victory against Martinswood on Tuesday. Meanwhile, pupils in 5P and 6C enjoyed an engaging and informative LEGO workshop with Affinity Water.
We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 families to their Parents’ Evening on Tuesday next week.
Have a good weekend.
Emma Fordham,
Headteacher

SEND and Pastoral – Save the Dates
Coffee Morning: Tuesday 10th February
8.45-9.30am
Afternoon tea: Friday 20th March
2.30-3.15pm
We welcome all parents to attend (whether your child has a diagnosis or not) if they feel they would benefit from speaking to our SENCo and/or our pastoral team. In our experience, almost all children benefit from pastoral support during their journey at school. Examples of where this has been supportive in the past are when friendship issues arise, loss of a pet, online issues outside of school, family break up and bereavement. We are always delighted when more parents join us.
