Year 6 Mixed Cricket

On Tuesday 17th June a group of year 6's attended a cricket festival at the Stevenage cricket ground. Seven other schools attended and the winner of the whole day/tournament would go and represent the county. Unfortunately, we didn't win the tournament but we played really well. The first game was tricky as some of the children were unsure of the rules but we grew into the games as the day went on. I was very proud of the children and how they were determined to improve and they showed resilience in doing so. They grew in confidence massively which led to some amazing fielding and batting being displayed. A few individual mentions: Adam in 6B was very kind and helpful by teaching his peers how to bowl with a better technique. Audrey in 6B showed some amazing class cricket skills and was nominated by her peers and myself, Mrs Hewitt, M.V.P (most valuable player). Well done year 6.
