Wellbeing Projects

This week, we have been celebrating ‘Walk to School Week’, by making as many active journeys to school as possible. Your challenge over the May holidays is to continue this ECO-tastic work, by making even more journeys by foot or wheels! Remember - catching a bus or train are also great ways to travel alongside others. We challenge YOU to make an active journey every day of the May holidays! Record your active journeys however you like – you could create a diary, make a poster or take photographs to share with us in school!

This week for Healthy Eating Week, we have been comparing foods and discussing how/when we can make healthier choices. During the half term, we would like Year 3 and 4 to name as many different fruits and vegetables as you can using the letters of the alphabet. You can present in a way of your choice. Children in Year 5 and 6 can do this too OR you can choose to create a glossary of any key words you have learnt this week and write a sentence for each.

Every term, we try to do something to promote kindness in our school, community and nationally. Our kindness ambassadors would love you to write poem about kindness that the school could learn in the last half term. If you see yourself as a budding poet, this could be the task for you!

We are so lucky at Almond Hill to have lovely school grounds and outdoor spaces to enjoy. We have the field, playgrounds and the jungle gym for playing games but we want to use the Quad to create a space where you can relax and feel calm. We need your help! Your home learning project is to design a relaxation space for all children to enjoy!
