Football Match 28.02.2024

The squad went into the cup game a little nervous after previously losing 5-0 to Round Diamond in the league but they were all up for it and went out onto the pitch wanting to take the win. We played 9 v 9 as it was a cup match meaning we didn't have any subs and frustratingly, had to play on a 7 x 7 smaller pitch yet, this didn't stop them from bringing home a fantastic 7-0 victory! A clean sheet for Teddy and Oliver. We started strong from the whistle and continued to play well as a team until the final whistle, 7 goals later. The positive communication between the team was at its very best - truly a joy to watch. Miss Simmons thanks every one of you...

Oliver - started in goal for the first half and placed out of position in defence for the second half - great effort and attitude all round - Very well done Ollie!

Teddy - Probably the loudest voice on the pitch and definitely helped the team to get a head start playing on the right wing in the first half. Very encouraging, such a hard worker and a few goals too (one from a corner!). Also kept a clean sheet with a solid goal performance in the second half - Superb Ted! (Manager's player of the week!)

George - Mr Reliable. Stuck in central defence - nothing gets passed him plus he is an absolute threat pushing forward. Lots of nominations for player's player every week. Brilliant communication at the back and an all round great game - nice one George!

Cleo - Another brilliant game for Cleo and although no goals came her way she was grafting for the whole match and never stopped chasing the ball down. even put her out of her comfort zone in defence for the last few minutes and she just got on with it and played so well - love it Cleo!

Dawson - A good game from Dawson and as ever a brilliant attitude. Fair, honest and hard working Dawson continued to battle for the whole 40 minutes - Brilliant Dawson.

Deniz - He loves the game and is so happy to be playing and it shows. He put in so much effort and is always improving, looking up and trying to find the simple passes which he did a great job off against Round Diamond. I could see real progress this week - Keep it up Deniz!

Harry - The engine. I think I am going to give up giving Harry a position because he doesn't stop running around the whole pitch - his work rate (and obvious skill and speed) is insane. I often see him in the goal mouth striking only to spot him a few seconds later as the last man in defence. Grafts for the team and is being really encouraging to others plus scored a belter!  - Go Gilbert!

Keiyan - Keeps asking me to go in goal but we have two great keepers plus he is fantastic on the pitch! He played on the wing in the first half and in defence for the second. A brilliant all rounder and an amazing game. His communication with George throughout the match was superb - top notch Keiyan (Player's player of the match)

Alex - Mr composure! Reads the game really well. Had an injury but shrugged it off and battled on. Plays well in a multitude of positions and never moans when he is put anywhere. Leads by example - Keep doing what you're doing Alex.
