On Friday 10th November work on the new community woodland was completed and officially named “Fairlane Wood”. Although all the past and present members were not able to join due to limited places, we were able to take some of the ECO Committee members to re-visit the trees that they planted and take part in various nature-themed activities. We learnt more about the trees in the existing woodland – did you know there is actually a moat in the woodland! We also collected some seeds and then were lucky enough to interact with some amazing birds of prey! To support Clean Air Day, families were encouraged to walk, scoot, cycle or ‘park and walk’ to school. Children in our ECO Committee made signs for our drop off zone and posters made by children in 4O were put up around the school.

This week, children in our ECO Committee have been taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s Big Litter Pick campaign. We have ‘pledged to pick’ and will work to clear the grounds of any litter to make it safer for the wildlife that lives here. Two children in our school have got ahead of the game and spent some of their weekend litter picking in their local community. Well done, Marley and Anniyah!
