"This is a true testament to the hard work and dedication that you put into preparing the children for secondary school."

As you know, ******** joined Almond Hill in Year 4 and we were concerned that he may struggle to settle. We needn't have worried, as he was welcomed with open arms and set up for success from the very beginning. One of the comments made was that ****** hit the ground running' at Barclay, and this is a true testament to the hard work and dedication that you put into preparing the children for secondary school.

We couldn't be more grateful for his school experience at Almond Hill. You helped to shape his approach to learning and taught him that he could 'Aim High' and achieve whatever he wants with hard work. Not only that, but you also instilled how important it is to be kind and to care for your school and community.

***** is the third and last of my children to come through Almond Hill and I feel that he, and we, are incredibly lucky to have benefited from everything that school has to offer. I think it’s a special place and it’s never let us down.

My children are all very different, but the school has nurtured them, encouraged them and guided them with the same care and support, but with bespoke approaches to get the most out of their strengths and personalities.

I’m so sad to be leaving the Almond Hill community. ******* is definitely ready for secondary school, I’m not sure I am. But I know that Almond Hill, and Letchmore before you, will have given him the best possible chance of success, socially and academically, when he goes into Barclay.

We feel so lucky to have had such kind, patient, fun and inspiring teachers and TA's over the years. All of whom have played an important role in helping ****** and ****** to become the beautiful young people they are today. Their learning and confidence has flourished and it has been an absolute joy to watch them grow.

The school office team have always been so kind and supportive too - nothing has been too much trouble for them!

Focus: Wellbeing, Inclusion, Safety, Learning, and School Life

Overall Highlights

Strong sense of belonging: Across all year groups, the majority of pupils feel they are an important part of Almond Hill School.
Culture and kindness matter: Most pupils feel proud to share their culture and notice the positive impact of weekly kindness challenges.
E-safety and real-life learning: Pupils report remembering how to stay safe and making safer choices online — showing our safety education is having real impact.
Outdoor spaces are valued: Pupils enjoy using the school’s outdoor areas and say time outside helps them feel calm and focused.
Most pupils agree that teachers help them to do their best and provide work that challenges them.
Learning is enjoyed across all year groups, with strong agreement from Year 6 especially.
The vast majority of children feel safe at school.
Pupils feel they have an adult they can talk to when something is worrying them — a vital sign of trust and support.
Emotional and mental health support is widely recognised.
Pupils report feeling encouraged to be independent and take responsibility — especially in Year 6.
Respect and equality are key values at Almond Hill, and most pupils “strongly agree” that everyone is treated fairly.
Most students say bullying “doesn’t happen” or is dealt with well by staff.
