Year 6 Parent Survey - Summer 2025
Thinking back on your child's time at Almond Hill, what are the best things about our school that you recommend we never change?

First of all, the staff. We have had such amazing teachers and TAs for *******, all the way through. I know you can't keep the same ones always - but choosing staff as you have previously done, who cares about the children from a holistic point of view, ensuring they experience many amazing things that will never be forgotten. Graham. ******** loved it so much. After school clubs - these are so important and it has been great seeing ******** enjoy different sports.

The staff morale, team spirit and dedication which really shows. That can only have a positive effect on the pupils.

The inclusivity and diversity is well appreciated.

Reward - Everything from gaining a pen for handwriting to a badge for achieving the climb has been something to strive for and has worked really well for Lois.

Extra activities - The opportunity to represent the school outside of school for choir/ council/ sports is such a valuable experience. (The commitment from staff to facilitate this is appreciated)

Visibility - Staff are always present. Having teachers including our Head at the gate welcoming the children in and knowing their names is hugely valued. Thank you for making them feel "seen".

I really like the warmth of Almond Hill. The staff seem happy and have a good rapport and this filters through to the children and parents. Each child is celebrated for their own strengths and supported through their weaknesses. Every child and family fits! No one is left out. Thank you so much for everything!! Don’t change anything.

The support and kindness given to each child from every teacher. Everyone goes above and beyond for the children.

All the trips and amazing and the activities running up to the end of year 6 are amazing it really gives the children time to create forever memories with the people they love the most.

What are the three best things about Almond Hill? 

The school puts the children first.

Fair approach to all children by giving them fair opportunities and let them shine where they feel most comfortable .

Staff: all staff are very approachable kind and caring for the children. They treat them fairly and are very supportive.

It feel like a family school where your voice can be heard and children feel safe and happy plus great way of teaching and encouraging the children to challenge themselves.

I feel thoroughly supported by Almond Hill. Communication between us is excellent – Jan 25 referrning to SEND. 

This is an email of appreciation to the office team. The office have many calls from myself regarding queries or me needing general help with school issues.  Everytime the office team are happy and friendly and solve every question/issue for me. They are amazing!

Graduations Summer 2025

I thought it was absolutely brilliant, and loved every minute!

This event was incredible. The commitment from the staff in making this such a memorable event for the children (and parents) is outstanding. The inclusive awards and video are beautiful.

It was clear how much effort and thought had gone into it. It was equally funny and moving - thank you!

Absolutely nothing could be improved. It was an amazing event. Well thought out and planned. I appreciate all the hard work that would have gone into organising so thank you!

It was amazing. You could feel the energy in the rooms, tears of laughter and emotions.

Maths Morning - January 2025

I had an absolutely lovely morning. It was so nice to see the children so excited running around to get their different maths problems and rushing to solve it quickly. Before attending my son said maths was boring but when I left he said that was so much fun! . Brilliant idea and fun had by all!

 

This was a really good event. Please keep them going. It is nice to see the kids in action and get a glimpse of their day to continue supporting at home.

Thank you very much for allowing us in the classrooms. The children seemed to enjoy the activities very much which were very fun and creative.

 

Subject Leaders work effectively as a team. They are an open, honest, professional, positive and solution-finding group who were a genuine pleasure to work with.
